Benedict

In Benedict, a mallard travels through an imagined sky with a red suitcase, a copy of the Dutch book Dood gaan kun je leren (You Can Learn to Die) and a scattering of familiar possessions. Combining painting, collage and drawing, the work considers how ordinary objects become repositories of memory and identity. Balancing tenderness with absurdity, it asks what remains after someone is gone—and whether the things and stories they leave behind can continue to accompany us.
